Happy Halloween!!!

CC is our lil' Pink Rabbit this year.

On a day that our kids have been looking forward to for over a month now, I can't help but have a heavy heart knowing our friends Mike and Holli don't have their Baby Girl Hannah to take trick-or-treating tonight. They lost her unexpectedly yesterday morning.
God has a plan and it truly is His plan. Like Jake tells me every day, life is a gift - make the most of it.  Tomorrow is not promised to any one of us.
Hoping for a good night with the kids as we make our way around the neighborhood for trick-or-treating.

Halloween is on the Horizan...

Happy Birthday Gpa Shorty & Drew!!

October 28th...another special day.

Gpa Shorty would've been 91 years old today.

And our special Drewster is 16 today!

Hard to believe this photo was taken 15 years ago after we won Sub-Section vball in Marshall.

Our handsome ring bearer 8 years ago.

Now this handsome young man will be taking his driver's test next week!

Girls' Weekend...Long Over Due

 

 Had an incredible Friday night and Saturday with two of my best friends from college.

What a long and overdue girls' night out with Heather and Bethany - thank you!

Heath and her mom know how to throw incredible parties.

Heath loves her "shoes" and made these awesome high heel cupcakes for her Lia Sophia party!

 

After the party the three of us girls headed to a Gull Lake Resort.

Needless to say, the water was FREEZING, but we had a great night visiting and catching up on "Life."

 

Best Friends for Life.

On Saturday after lunch we headed to a craft store.

Bethany put this gopher head on her wish list ;)

 

I found this at the craft store and instantly put it on my wish list for Christmas.

Fire Awareness Field Trip...

 

Nearly two weeks already Angie invited the girls and I down to daycare for a Field Trip.

The fire department came down to explain fire safety to the little kids.

The memories came flooding back to 5 years ago when Andray was a baby (exact same age as Carrine) and the fire department came to visit Angie's back in the fall of 2008.

Time is just going by way too fast.

Roslyn was beyond excited to be reunited with her friends.

Roz wasn't afraid to give the fire fighter a high five.

She even got to slip into the fire fighter's boots and hold the helmet.

Roz said, "Holy buckets Mom, this is heeeeeeeeeeavy!"

Even Baby Carrine got a chance to slip into the fire fighter's boots!

Too darn cute.

 

 

Rozzy thought she was pretty "hot stuff" sitting in the fire truck too!

What a BIG GIRL already!

Hard to believe she's the oldest of all her daycare friends.

Just over a year ago Angie suffered a devastating fire in her home. Was a scary time for all involved. Thank the Lord she and her girls are okay. Tears were shed when the firemen came to Angie's two weeks ago. She thanked all 4 of the men who came for the demonstration, as they were some of the fire fighters to put out her fire a year ago. God is good...he definitely turned lemons into lemonade as Angie's house is now better than ever. Very thankful.

Milestones Continue for Miss CC...

 

 I continue to be amazed each day at how much Carrine changes before my very eyes.

Jake couldn't believe it yesterday when he got home and his lil' CC was sitting up all by herself!

 

 Yesterday Roz took the complete honors of feeding Carrine her very first PUFF.

 

As you can tell it didn't go over very well.

Not sure Carrine is ready for real food yet. But she sure does love her baby food!

 

Once all the gagging was done, Carrine was back to her happy, laid-back self.

She is such a joy - very thankful.

 

Each day we work on CC's ab muscles...

 

but she's much happier on her back, laying down! Nothing wrong with that. I'm in NO RUSH for this baby to be on the move!  Time needs to slow down!

Something Out of My Realm...

Roslyn and Carrine get to experience something I never did growing up...having a sister.

While the entire concept of "Big Sister / Little Sister" is out of my realm,

it's incredible to watch how these two interact.

Last week the house was eerily quiet. I walked into the girls' room only to find Roslyn reading CC one of her favorite books - priceless.

Carrine is very fortunate to have an older sister.

And Roslyn absolutely loves having a baby sister.

I learn something new every day from these two little girls.

Our neighbor said it perfectly when we told them we were expecting Carrine last fall.

They said, "If you ever want to make God laugh...tell Him "YOUR PLAN."

My professional goals have completely changed in the last 2 years.

Our 5-year and 10-year financial goals have completely changed in the past year, but for the better.

God really does know what you need in your life and without question we needed Baby Carrine in our life to complete our family.

We are happy - life is GOOD!

Dancin' in the Rain...

 

Last week our Big Kids enjoyed dancin' in the rain.

Roz of course enjoys every opportunity to dance, especially if it's in the rain!

Andray on the other hand got a little chilly ;)

 

 Rozzy took "Dancin' in the Rain" to a whole new level last week!

 Saying that she LOVES to step in every water puddle that she sees might be the understatement of the year.

 Ta-Da!

 

 Of course, when Dad's not home - she loves to play in the rain barrel as well!

 

Rozzy is one happy little 4-year-old when she gets to Dance in the Rain!
