Ready or Not...We're "Back to School!"

How is it even possible that summer is over and our big kids officially started 3rd and 2nd grade today?! I'm very thankful for our kids and appreciate how tolerable they were this summer of our CRAZY SCHEDULE!

Last night (amidst the heavy rain storm), we set out the kids' backpacks and shoes.
Of course Carrine wanted her things set out, even though she doesn't start preschool for 2 more weeks!

Pancakes and bacon for breakfast!
Big kids got a "3" and "2" for pancakes.
Carrine initially got a "P" for Pre-school...but as you can tell she was pretty upset. She thought that "she" should get the #3 pancake because she was 3 years old!
Can't make it up...happy as could be once I made her a "3" flap jack!

3rd, 2nd, Preschool...heavy on a mom's heart!
Andray told me this morning that his t-shirt was perfect for the first day of 3rd grade. I asked "why" and he said, "Because I can't be stopped Mom..duh!"
Too funny.

Heading out the doorway...only 20 minutes too early for the bus stop. :)
Just a tad excited for the first day of school!

So the girls meditated and prayed while they waited for their bus...

And our boy played ball...love this picture!
He played A LOT of bball this summer!

Then "S4" arrived...so thankful our neighbor takes the kids to school every day for me!

One sad little girl watching her big brother and sister head off to school.
I was choking back the tears too...kids are growing up way too fast but have to "give them wings!"
I'll be "water works" next week at CC's preschool open house!

Good morning signs for the big kids...

Carrine and I enjoyed our one-on-one time today while the kiddos were at school...lots of errands run!
Was a productive day!

And I might "copyright" this song of Roz...or send into Jimmy Fallon Show!
Wish I had half her excitement and energy!

This is going to be one special and memorable school year for our entire family at SMHOC!
Looking forward to it...God is Good!

On the Eve of a New School Year...

Just cannot believe our big kids will be starting 2nd and 3rd grade tomorrow! Doesn't seem possible that this crazy roller coaster of a summer is coming to an end!

Last week our family enjoyed Open House for the big kids. Got to take school pictures already too! Nice to have those out of the way!

Andray gets a male teacher this year...he seems like a pretty awesome guy already!

Andray's pumped his 2 best friends are back in his class this year!

Roz was beside herself to be back at school. She ran to hug her kindergarten and 1st grade teachers first though! Pretty sweet!

Andray and Roslyn's "favors" at their desks to welcome them back!

But before we head back to school tomorrow, I had the distinct privilege of snuggling with this trio this morning and watching cartoons...talk about Heaven on Earth!

Capped off our incredible summer with a trip to a local lake for a picnic and water time! Just wish I could FREEZE TIME!

Looking forward to another great, memorable and "special" year at our school!

Stay Calm...

Matthew 8:26
He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

Summer Olympics in Rio...What a Treat!!!!!

Wow, the past 17 days of watching the Summer Olympics in Rio have been an absolute TREAT for our family! Kids were at perfect ages to watch the GAMES and appreciate the hard work and effort that the athletes put forward. They will never forget watching so much HISTORY!
Top three favorite sports were: Gymnastics, swimming and beach volleyball!
(no pressure by the parents to watch those sports either!)

A huge shout-out to former SCSU bball and trackster star, Heather Miller-Koch, who competed in the Olympic Games and finished 18th overall in the Heptathlon!
So proud of you Heather!

And so happy for your husband Ryan, your coach, who got to experience the Olympics thrill with you! Memories for a lifetime!

Our Olympic Gold Gals!

All three kids did LOTS of gymnastics past couple weeks!
Taped up ankles and wrists and all!

Roz grew to like the Rythmic Gymnastics as well...talk about talent that those gymnasts have.

Roz loves to hula hoop!

Andray loved making his own obstacle courses the past couple weeks too! Always up for the challenge! Jumping over 8 pillows, can't make it up.

No question our family was sad to see the Olympics end yesterday...already looking forward to 2018 Winter Olympics!

School Shopping in the Books...Times 3!!!

Oh, last week ended on a high note! We got to take the kids school shopping,..yes, all three!!!
I truly enjoyed my one-on-one time shopping with the big kids. They are so unique. Crazy that we're preparing them for 3rd and 2nd grade already!
And then there's our Carrine Faith...hard to believe she's starting preschool this fall. But she is MORE THAN READY! We went school shopping as a family for CC, and it was fun watching the big kids help her pick out her supplies.
It was also a complete whirlwind shopping with all 3 kids at the same time (along with 1,000 other parents and kids school shopping in Target! - Jake would say, "Stress City!"), but memories were made.
Going to be a great school  year...very excited for the kiddos.

Oh Happy Sunday...

St. Boniface parade in the books! Police and Veteran escort (THANK YOU!), Billy Steil as Grand Marshal, Baby Drew's first sucker, and candy from a Combine Auger = GREAT TIME!
Happy Sunday!
