A Special Mass...

Today Andray's 2nd grade classmates celebrated mass together in their 1st Communion apparel...it was such a sweet and special mass...very proud of the entire class!

Our beloved Father Bob was back to visit and celebrate mass with the students.

Was awesome to have him back!

First Steps to Jesus...

Checked on Andray after tucking the girls into bed last night and he had fallen asleep while reading his new prayer book from 1st Communion..."First Steps to Jesus."

Hope this new habit of reading his prayer book continues long into the future.

Fun to Compare 1st Communion Days...

Saturday was quite the special day for Andray Paul and our extended families.

Sure is fun to look back to 1989 and compare Jake's and my own 1st Communion Days!

Love my parents! I wore my mom's 1st Communion dress and my Godmother made my veil for me.

Jake with his parents...they haven't changed a bit in 26 years!

After all of our guests left, Andray told me, "This was a great day Mom!"

Yes indeed son...looking forward to sharing many future communions with you!

Congratulations Andray Paul on your 1st Holy Communion!

What a weekend! So proud of our Andray Paul as he received his 1st Holy Communion.

Such a special sacrament.

Very proud of the way Roslyn and Carrine celebrated for and with Andray.

They were truly and whole-heartedly happy for him.

Andray wore his Great Gpa Andy Stang's brown tie, very special.

No doubt Great Gpa Andy was looking down on him yesterday.

Andray also wore his Papa Larry's tie cross pin and a crucifix necklace that Jake and I got him. 3 things he can wear for a very long time!

Roslyn was a great help with decorating...Andray's artwork and certificates.

Andray made sure to set up his Perller Bead "Shop" in the garage where the food would be served.

He wanted his guests to shop for "free," but return what they "bought" before leaving.

A special thank you to my Gram, who brought one of my Grandpa Shorty's handkerchiefs that I wanted to have with me during mass. Even after Gpa has passed 10 1/2 years ago, his hanky still smelled like him! I knew he was with us during mass.
